Hey there

I'm Marcus Ferreira, a UX/UI Designer based in vibrant Nashville, TN. Creativity and design have been dynamic and ever-evolving aspects of my life since I was old enough to hold a pencil. From those early days of sketching fantasy characters and sci-fi scenes that existed solely in my imagination to my decade’s worth of professional design experience in the field of landscape architecture, my creative journey has been a series of transformative phases that ultimately led me to where I am now as a UX/UI designer. In my portfolio, you'll discover a diverse collection of projects, each a testament to the meticulous care, attention, and creativity I invest in every endeavor.

From Landscape to UX

During my ten years in Landscape Architecture, I was naturally drawn to emerging technology innovations, always eager to adopt new tools and techniques to enhance my design capabilities. This curiosity about technology and my lifelong love for design eventually led me into the world of UX/UI.

- As a landscape designer, I learned:

- To appreciate the importance of user experience on a physical scale - creating spaces that not only look beautiful but also function seamlessly

- How to work closely with a cross-functional team in order to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, agile work environment

- The importance of utilizing qualitative and quantitative research to understand design constraints and possibilities

Today, I have seamlessly channeled these skills and many others into creating impactful digital experiences that keep the end user in mind.

When I'm not designing

You can catch me sketching on paper + iPad, throwing pottery, making sushi, traveling with my wife & pup in our self-converted van, or playing 3-minute chess. I'm a hobbyist DIYer and spend the majority of my free time either building something or thinking about what to build next.
